  2. A Charon of unknown origin is recorded in 1654 in Quebec city with the secondary surname La Barre, while a Charron from Champagne, secondary surname Ducharme, is recorded in Montreal in 1665 and another, from the Saintonge region, also called La Ferrière, was recorded in Quebec city in 1669.
