Japanese (mostly found in the islands of Kyūshū and Okinawa) : written with characters meaning ‘pine tree’ and ‘lower slope (of a
mountain)’. One family is of priestly (Shintō) origin; two others
descend from branches of the Taira and Minamoto clans.
