Family name origins & meanings
- Japanese (Ōmori) : ‘large grove’; variously written. It is found mostly in eastern Japan and the island of Okinawa. Some bearers, of Fujiwara origin, took the name from a district in Suruga (now part of Shizuoka prefecture).
