  • The name is found in Canada as Rheault, Rault; an immigrant from La Rochelle, France, was in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, by 1664. Another line known as Durault, from the Saintonge region of France, was in Cap Madeleine by 1690, with the secondary surnames <xref>Lavergne</xref> and Saintongeais. Other associated secondary surnames include <xref>Alexandre</xref> and Morinville.
