Last name origin & meaning:

Irish (of Welsh origin): habitational name from a place in Pembrokeshire called Stackpole from a stack of rocks on the coast at the entrance to Broadhaven, from which settlers of Norman descent made their way into Ireland; probably derived from Old Norse stakkr ‘stack’ + polr ‘pool’.
